Personal Trainer – Adaptive Fitness | $32/hour | Flexible Part-Time Schedule

Looking for meaningful part-time work where you can use your personal training skills to make a real difference?

Special Strong San Diego is hiring Certified Personal Trainers to provide one-on-one adaptive fitness training for individuals with intellectual, developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges.

We provide the clients, scheduling support, training, and administrative support so you can focus on coaching.

What You'll Do

• Conduct private 1:1 personal training sessions
• Lead or co-lead small group fitness sessions when applicable
• Modify exercises based on each client's abilities and goals
• Review client information and prepare individualized workouts
• Conduct fitness assessments and periodic reassessments
• Document client progress and session information
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, and the Special Strong team
• Travel to assigned training locations within your service area

Required Qualifications

• Active Personal Trainer Certification
• Active CPR/AED Certification
• Comfortable using a smartphone and basic computer applications
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to travel to assigned locations within approximately a 15-mile service area
• Dependable, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently

Preferred, But Not Required

• Previous personal training experience
• Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, seniors, or other adaptive populations

Experience with individuals with disabilities may come from professional, educational, volunteer, coaching, caregiving, or personal experience.
