Natural Gas Pipeline TechnicianLocation: Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky is preferred)Our client is a natural gas pipeline services company that is seeking a Pipeline Technician. The company provides project development, operation/maintenance, and regulatory compliance services for natural gas pipelines. The company is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a qualified technician to service a number of different pipeline systems.Responsibilities Include:Operate and maintain natural gas pipeline systems in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) under CFR 49 Parts 191 & 192.Ability to immediately pass tests to become Operator Qualified in performing many tasks on natural gas pipelinesMust pass drug test and be subject to random testingPatrolling natural gas pipelinesPerforming leak surveys using a Heath DPIR unitInspect, test, and rebuild pressure regulators (pilot operated)Operate, refill, and small repairs to odorization equipmentOperate and maintain glycol bath heaters used to heat natural gasInspect and maintain pipeline valvesTest cathodic protection systems and identify atmospheric corrosion issuesRecord keeping of all testing and patrolsUtility line locates with pipeline location equipmentPurge and pack/commission new systemsRoutine maintenance to grounds of pressure reducing/meter stationsPreferred Skills and Qualifications:3+ years of field experience operating natural gas pipeline facilities and equipmentExperience performing preventative maintenance and repairs on pressure regulators, valves, compressors, and bath heaters ---- components of natural gas pipeline systems.Knowledge of PHMSA pipeline safety regulations and procedures for gathering, distribution, and transmission lines.Experience with the design and construction of natural gas pipeline systems is a plus.Willingness to travelCompensation:Salary position commensurate with experience401K matchingPaid vacation and sick daysHealth insuranceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin
